The mission of professional learning in Green Bay Area Public School District is to develop, nurture, and sustain the capacity of the staff to improve student and adult learning.
Services
Plan and facilitate a comprehensive in-service program for staff development.
Identify, design, coordinate, provide and supervise a professional development for new and experienced employees; work in conjunction with Curriculum and Technology to assist and guide the implementation of the Common Core State Standards.
New Employee Orientation
Support the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Support, CHAMPS and Discipline in the Secondary Classroom; K-12
Ensuring high-fidelity implementation of the board-approved professional learning framework through communication with all stakeholders
Establishing and maintaining collaborative learning team membership in MyLearningPlan
Processing the submission of meeting logs from the late start days
Working with principals and School Improvement Teams to generate reports of Collaborative Learning Team meeting logs
Coordinating and facilitating logistics and content for the district’s
Professional Learning Advisory Council
Working with principals to coordinate and facilitate professional learning sessions for staff groups related to district initiatives
Coordinating student teacher placements and field experience opportunities
Facilitating student teaching technology access
Assisting in the recruitment of potential educators
Coordinating and facilitating New Employee Orientation (bi-monthly)
Coordinating and facilitating New Educator Orientation (semi-annually
Coordinating graduate level courses
Coordinating and facilitating monthly Initial Educator and Mentor meetings
Coordinating PDP Team Member training sessions from DPI
Coordinating and facilitating PDP goal writing, verification and annual review sessions
Coordinating with the curriculum and technology department on the implementation/adoption plan including 14 hours of vendor training and 9 hours of follow-up
Coordinate and support nonviolent crisis intervention training
Support district coaches by coordinating and facilitating monthly professional learning sessions and meetings for both the elementary and middle school coaches
