About Kennedy Elementary School

Dear Parents:

John F. Kennedy School is a vibrant, diversified school serving early childhood, 4-year-old kindergarten students through 5th grade, including an early childhood program. We currently have about 300 students. We also house the district deaf and hard of hearing program.  We have a wonderful staff that supports our programs, which greatly benefits our students. We are also a PBIS school (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) which teaches students to be safe, respectful, and responsible.

In partnership with Bellin Health, Kennedy School is a THRIVE School with staff and students participating in a variety of health initiatives.  There are numerous activities that promote healthy habits as a lifestyle available to all students including:  THRIVE assemblies, daily activity breaks, active recess, weekly fruit and vegetable snacks, recess before lunch, Fit in 15, intramurals, running club, and fifth grade basketball.  Along with these activities we also offer our students vocal/instrumental concerts, musicals, math mornings, Title One Family Nights, Kamp Kennedy, PBIS celebrations, and Grandparent Day. Needless to say, we are a vibrant, neighborhood school.

Kennedy has an active parent network called K.E.Y.S. (Kennedy Elementary Youth Support) which sponsors our talent show, Fall Fest, holiday shop, Book Fair, Spring Event, and numerous family events.  This past year Kennedy received the Bronze Award from the Alliance for Healthier Generation Schools and was the Wisconsin NFL Play 60 Award Winner.
