In November 2012, district 6th and 9th grade students received a netbook (mini laptop) to use at school and home in a 1:1 technology initiative. Students will turn in their computer at the end of each school year.
The 1:1 initiative is part of the implementation of Common Core State Standards in mathematics and language arts in ensuring our students are college, career and community ready. The district is working on a solution for families who do not have Internet access.
Please view an informational flyer about the program, and read about innovative learning. For home trouble shooting tips for netbooks, view these instructions. The district is also offering parents a low cost netbook insurance program that fully covers theft and accidental damage. Students will bring home application forms in December 2012.
