Paper Tigers Movie Showing
Presented by Christina Gingle, GBAPS School Social Worker
Thursday, April 6 at 6 p.m. - East High School

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, adverse childhood experiences, or ACEs, are stressful or traumatic childhood events such as abuse and neglect. Community members are invited to attend the showing of “Paper Tigers” to help understand how ACEs can have an impact on how we educate today's youth. “Paper Tigers” chronicles a year in the life of Lincoln High School students, where the students have a history of truancy, behavioral problems and substance abuse.

The screening will conclude with a guided discussion geared towards exploring how parents, community and schools can work together to better meet the needs of our students. Parents are advised that the movie includes explicit language and that students under the age of 17 should not attend.

East High School is located at 1415 E. Walnut St.
