Election Details

An election is to be held in the Green Bay Area Public School District on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed. The term of office for a school board member is three years (unless otherwise noted) beginning on Monday, April 27, 2026.

• Office: Board of Education Member  Incumbent: Samantha Meister
  • For the one year remainder of the term, to succeed the present incumbent listed, whose appointment by the Board will expire in April 2026. The person who receives the third highest number of votes in the election will fill the remainder of this Board vacancy, expiring in April 2027.

Office Terms

The term of office for the School Board Member is three years, unless otherwise noted, beginning on Monday, April 27, 2026. A description of the school district boundaries can be obtained from the school district office.

For Candidates

A Campaign Registration Statement, Nomination Papers, and a Declaration of Candidacy must be filed no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the District Office Building, 200 S. Broadway, Green Bay, WI 54303 with Kinsey Lehr.

• Once completed, please call to make an appointment with Kinsey Lehr at (920) 448-2100 to file your paperwork.

Notary Services: Availability of a Notary at the District Office is not guaranteed on all dates. Candidates are encouraged to call ahead to confirm availability and/or have their documents notarized prior to filing them at the District Office.

Notification of Noncandidacy

Must be filed by an incumbent no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025.

The following incumbent school board member whose term of office expires in April 2026 and whose seat will be contested at 2026 Spring Election have filed a Notification of Noncandidacy, as provided under section 120.06(6)(b)3 of the State statutes:

By filing a Notification of Noncandidacy, the incumbent(s) listed above have given advance notice that they do not presently intend to be a candidate for reelection to their school board office.

Except as otherwise provided under state law, a qualified elector of the School District who wishes to become a candidate and have their name appear on the election ballot for any of the school board seat(s) that will be contested at the 2026 Spring Election must file all necessary forms at the Green Bay Area Public School District Office, 200 S. Broadway, Green Bay, with Kinsey Lehr, by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. If a primary is necessary, the primary will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Additional Information

Acceptable photo identification will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo ID, you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.
