Behavior Focus
What is Behavior Support?
There are Behavior Focus Programs at the elementary, middle and high school levels. These special education programs are designed to assist students in overcoming challenging behaviors while enabling them to develop the social and emotional skills to be successful. The goal of the Behavior Focus programs is for students to be able to engage in their learning, interact appropriately with others, and follow directions/rules.
Services
- Supports the special education Behavior Focus Programs in the district (four high school, four middle school, and five elementary schools.)

Provides 1;1, small group and district wide professional development/learning based on special education staff needs for capacity.

Coaches special education staff within their environment at their home school.

Collaborates with district and building staff to understand behavior.

Collaborates with school teams to problem solve individual student needs.

Help special education staff with data by helping them create goals, match goals with accurate data collection.

Support staff with completion of Functional Behavioral Assessments and creating Behavior Intervention Plans.

Within the Well Badger Resource Center is the WI Children’s Mental & Behavioral Health Navigator which is a free, online, anonymous tool here to help you navigate resources for a child you care about who has mental or behavioral health concerns.
National Alliance on Mental Illness: The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI works in the community to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need.
National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH): The mission of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is to transform the understanding and treatment of mental illnesses through basic and clinical research, paving the way for prevention, recovery, and cure.
