Intellectual Disabilities-ID
GBAPS offers a range of programming at both elementary and secondary levels to address the unique needs of our students with an Intellectual Disability (ID). These programs range from cross categorical special education services to self-contained options for students with the most significant needs in the areas of overall cognition, self-help skills, social skills and communication. All teachers instructing students with an ID are supported to utilize Evidence Based Practices to ensure our students have access to the best possible learning environments with appropriate tools, strategies, and supports. ID Focus programs utilize resources aligned to the Alternate Achievement Standards to break down grade level standards to best meet the students needs and goals.
The District has programming for intellectual disabilities at many of our schools:
East Quad: Howe (Autism/ID), Sullivan, Washington and East
Preble Quad: Danz, Red Smith, Baird, Edison and Preble
Southwest Quad: Beaumont, Kennedy, Langlade, Doty, Lombardi and Southwest
West Quad: Franklin, Fort Howard, and West
