AVID Class

 The AVID class meets daily and uses an established curriculum. It includes:

• Rigorous standards
• WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization and Reading) strategies
• Focused note-taking
• Study skills
• Twice weekly tutorials led by trained college or adult tutors
• Socratic Seminars 
• The creation of a network of support made up of parents, teachers, and AVID classmates all focused on the goal of preparing students for college.
