Engineering

Engineering and robotics are essential in today’s society. The District offers students an engineering pathway to explore engineering topics such as mechanisms, strength of structures and materials, and automation/robotics. Students will learn how to develop solutions to problems by engaging in real-world problems. They work in teams, set goals, and create their own process.

Career opportunities in the engineering field include: civil engineer, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, BioMedical engineer, industrial engineer, etc.

Capstone Courses:

Engineering Design and Development is the capstone course for the pathway. Students can receive dual credit from UW-Green Bay. Juniors and seniors who have previously taken Intro to Engineering are eligible for the capstone course. The capstone course is hosted at Preble High School, but students from all Green Bay Area Public School District high schools may attend.

Students in the engineering capstone courses work collaboratively together, similar to college-level courses. Engineers from the local community are also brought into the classroom as project advisors.
