East students and staff making lasagnaOn November 10, East High School culinary students will spend time preparing homemade meals to be distributed to East High School families through the Eats for East Food Pantry program. These meals were made possible thanks to a grant from Green Bay West Rotary, and a matching donation from Bruce Deadman, East alumnus (1970), and Rotary member Phillip Smith.

Eats for East was established to remove barriers for students to ensure all students can be successful learners. Staff refer students that they believe may be in need to social workers and school counselors who partner with students and their families to determine what assistance may be needed. Students referred to the pantry receive bags of food depending on the need and number of individuals in the household.
