New Elementary Report Cards

The Green Bay Area Public School District is excited to announce a new standards-based report card for our elementary schools, designed to give parents/guardians a clearer, more accurate picture of their child’s learning and growth.

Why the Change?

Traditional report cards often combine academic performance with behavior and work habits, making it difficult to understand exactly how a child is progressing in specific subject areas. The new standards-based report card separates these areas and focuses on what a student knows and can do in relation to grade-level expectations.

This approach helps the District provide:

  • Clear, specific feedback about each student's progress

  • Consistent expectations across all classrooms and grade levels

  • A better understanding of both academic achievement and personal development

What Parents/Guardians will See:

The report card includes:

  • Academic performance based on the most recent and consistent observations and assessments

  • A proficiency scale (1–4) that shows how your child is progressing toward grade-level standards

  • A separate section for Behaviors that Support Learning, such as responsibility, collaboration, and self-management
