District Staff Honored at 2025 Staff Recognition Awards
Eight Green Bay Area Public School District staff members were honored at the 2025 Staff Recognition Awards on May 19, 2025 for exemplifying the District’s core values and best practices in equity, engagement and excellence.
Each year, staff across the District are invited to nominate their peers in eight categories. The following staff members were recognized this year:
- Outstanding Initial Educator - Dana Farra Kindergarten Teacher at Langlade Elementary School
- Outstanding Elementary Educator - Carolee Richardson, 3rd Grade Teacher at MacArthur Elementary School
- Outstanding Elementary Support Staff - Paaj Yang, ESL Paraprofessional at Danz Elementary and Baird Elementary Schools
- Outstanding Secondary Educator - Danielle Scherer, Music Teacher at West High School
- Outstanding Secondary Support Staff - Tracy Cowfer, Paraprofessional at Northeast Wisconsin School of Innovation
- Outstanding School-Based Student Services Staff - Amy Bahena-Ettner, Library Media Specialist at Edison Middle School
- Outstanding School Administrator - Jenna Paal, Principal at Beaumont Elementary School
- Schools at the Center Champion - Dan Slowey, Director of Secondary Schools, District Office Building
Friends and family were invited to attend to see GBAPS staff members receive their awards.
Superintendent Vicki Bayer and other guests previously surprised the winners with visits to their schools on April 8, 2025.
