GBAPS Students Participate in NFL Draft
Several Green Bay Area Public Schools students had the opportunity of a lifetime when they participated in the 2025 NFL Draft outside Lambeau Field.
On Thursday, day one of the NFL Draft, Red Smith School student Madison Vang represented Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin (BBBS) as a "Little Reporter." She had the opportunity to interview NFL prospects on the red carpet.
Later that night, BBBS Littles and GBAPS students Aaliyah Hargrove (Elmore Elementary School), Amiyah Hargrove (Franklin Middle School) and Giovani Vazquez (Southwest High School) opened the NFL Draft while on stage with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, former Packers players, and performer Lil Wayne. (See GBAPS students right of Lil Wayne.)
Marcellus Calhoun-Jiles from Leonardo da Vinci School for Gifted Learners and Kenia Delgadillo of East High School walked out with former Green Bay Packer Jordy Nelson to make the No. 54 pick in the draft in the second round on Friday night.
Marcellus and Kenia participated in the NFL Draft as members of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay. Kenia was recently named Delgadillo—2024-25 Youth of the Year for the Bay & Lakes Region of the Boys & Girls Club.
The NFL Draft was a memorable community event for our GBAPS students, local community organizations, and the greater Green Bay community as a whole. Thank you to the NFL Draft, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin for proving our students with this once in a lifetime opportunity.
