Herber Bust Unvilled at West High School

Family and friends of the Herber family gather around the newly installed bust at West High School

West High School was honored to host the unveiling of the Green Bay Packers Arnie Herber bust on September 26, 2025, at Del Marcelle Stadium.

The West High School football team, staff, Herber family members and the community came out to see the unveiling of Herber’s bust at his alma mater. Herber graduated from West High School in 1928 as a multi-sport athlete and star football player.

Herber joined his hometown Packers in 1930 and went on to win four NFL Championships over 11 seasons. 

Recognized as pro football’s first great long-ball passer, he became the first player in league history to top 1,000 passing yards in a season. Herber was a part of one of football's first famous passing combinations, with Herber throwing to Don Hutson.

Herber was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1966.

This bust was installed as a part of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Legacy Series. The Legacy Series recognizes those in the Packers Hall of Fame and shares their legacies with students and the community.

A bust of Curly Lambeau was installed at Green Bay East High School’s City Stadium in fall of 2023, and a bust of Vince Lombardi was installed at Lombardi Middle School on September 25, 2024.
