Holiday Celebration at the Capitol

Holiday Celebration at the Capitol

The Green Bay Area Public School District was proud to be selected to have an educator from the District speak at this year's annual holiday tree lighting ceremony at the Capitol. West High School English Language Arts Teacher Eleanor Hinz-Radue was chosen to speak during the tree lighting ceremony. Ms. Hinz-Radue spoke on the essence of learning, which she described as love!

She was joined by Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District's Rodney Esser, "Mr. Peanuts," who has served as a custodian at Park Elementary School for 60 years. Ellie Mason, a student from John Muir Middle School in Wausau also spoke. The La Crosse Central High School band brought the holiday spirit, by playing several seasonal tunes.

This year's tree was dubbed the "The Learning Tree" as it was covered in ornaments made by students from across Wisconsin.
