Jackson Celebrates Black History Month

Jackson Elementary School celebrated Black History Month on February 24, 2026 with a living history event.

Mrs. Clendenen’s 4th Graders presented a Living History Museum. Students researched an influential Black American to “become” during their event, teaching visitors all about history.

2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the first Negro History Month, founded by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, which evolved into Black History Month.
