McAuliffe Teachers Surprised

McAuliffe Teachers Surprised

A representative from the Bellevue Lions Club visited McAuliffe Elementary School on October 2, 2026, to surprise two teachers as a part of the Cash for Classrooms Program.

Fifth grade teacher Erin Aschenbrenner and Kindergarten teacher Jessica Schweiner were both surprised with a $200 check for supplies that help support the curriculum in the classroom.

Aschenbrenner said the funds will be used for an agro-science project in her classroom, and Schweiner said the funds will go towards sensory support items.

To be considered for the program, teachers submit a written application explaining how they would use the money to best supplement the curriculum in the classroom. A committee evaluates the applications to determine the top two proposals.

Our teachers give so much to the community, we love to see when the community gives back! Thank you to the Bellevue Lions for supporting our educators with this initiative.
