Nine Green Bay Area Public School District (GBAPS) employees successfully participated in the third cohort of the Pipeline to Paraprofessional training program in June.
The training course concluded with two proctored exams by Emilie Heil, GBAPS Paraprofessional Development and Effectiveness Coordinator and Jamie Komorowski, Green Bay Southwest Career Center Coordinator.
Each of these individuals participated in a fast paced adult-learning cohort in order to advance their career options. They are now eligible to apply for paraprofessional jobs with GBAPS.
If they accept Special Education roles, GBAPS will assist with the Department of Public Instruction Special Education Program Aide licensing and associated costs. All new paraprofessionals will be placed with an experienced peer mentor in the GBAPS peer mentoring program, led by Emilie Heil.
This program was made possible and funded by a partnership between the Green Bay Education Association and a grant from the United Way.
