Preble Valedictorian Heading to Princeton

Preble High School is proud to celebrate valedictorian Ily Song, whose exceptional academic achievements, leadership, artistic talent, and dedication to service have earned her admission to Princeton University.

Throughout her high school career, Ily has demonstrated a commitment to excellence across a wide range of disciplines. She graduated with an Associate's Degree through the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay while simultaneously completing a rigorous high school curriculum that included 14 Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

Her academic accomplishments include being named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and earning placement on the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay Dean's List while still in high school. She has consistently been recognized on the Preble and Tomah High School High Honor Rolls.

Beyond academics, Ily distinguished herself in healthcare and science competitions. She received an Excellence Award at an international-level HOSA competition, where she was the only competitor representing the Green Bay area in her event during 10th and 11th grades. She also earned second place at the state Science Olympiad competition.

A talented athlete, Ily excelled in varsity girls golf, receiving High Honors recognition from the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin.

Performance has also played a significant role in her success. Ily was named a state champion at the Wisconsin Federation of Music Clubs Strings Festival and earned top ratings for her WSMA Solo Ensemble performances. She also competed in State Forensics all four years of high school, earning Gold/Perfect Score her junior an senior years, with silver and bronze awards her Sophomore and Freshman years, respectively.

In the visual arts, Ily's creativity and skill have earned statewide recognition. She achieved first place and a perfect score in the Visual Arts Classic Competition at both the regional and state levels. Her artwork was featured in the Wisconsin Youth Art Month Exhibition at the Wisconsin State Capitol Rotunda and was selected for publication in the Department of Defense Military Child Calendar.

Ily plans to major in Molecular Biology while exploring interests in Public Policy and Visual Arts. Her remarkable record of achievement reflects a passion for learning, leadership, creativity, and community engagement.
