WEMTA's Professional of the Year Award

Raquel Rand holds up Professional of the Year award at WEMTA conference

The Wisconsin Educational Media & Technology Association (WEMTA) named Green Bay Area Public Schools District Library Media Coordinator Raquel Rand as the Professional of the Year for 2025-2026.

Rand received the Professional of the Year Award during the WEMTA annual conference in March 2026.

The Professional of the Year Award recognizes a WEMTA member who has demonstrated individual excellence in the library, media, or educational technology profession through service to students, teachers, and the community at the K-12 level. This award is intended to recognize outstanding leadership and professionalism.

Rand is a library and technology leader with degrees in Library Science from UW-Eau Claire and UW-Milwaukee. Since 2011, she has proudly served the Green Bay Area Public School District first as a librarian, technology integrator, and now as the district’s Library Media Coordinator.

In this role, Rand supports library programs, staff, and helping students discover a love of reading and learning.

Congratulations, Raquel!
