West High School Rededicates Del Marcelle Stadium

West High School rededicated Del Marcelle Stadium after more than a year of stadium renovations on October 17, 2025.

The stadium renovations which included was renovated thanks to community support of the November 2022 Referendum. The stadium renovations included synthetic turf multi-use playing surface and track, video scoreboard, new grandstand with occupancy for more than 2,000, new press box, and a concessions/restroom storage building.

Superintendent Vicki Bayer, Board of Education President James Lyerly, Principal Dexter McNabb, and City of Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich all briefly spoke. 

In November 2022, the community voted to support the District's referendum providing major renovations to West High School's stadium, a weight room addition, and a historic auditorium renovation.

"You said yes, and that yes changed lives," Superintendent Bayer said. "Your yes told our students, we believe in you, we see your potential, we want you to have the opportunities for success, and that you matter."

Principal McNabb also acknowledged the impact these improvements have had on students and the overall West High School community.

"This stadium represents more than turf and track, bleachers and lights, it represents pride, progress, and possibility," Principal McNabb said. "It is a space where our students come to compete, to grow, and to belong. This transformation wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our community."

West High School broke ground on the stadium renovations on April 29, 2024 as a part of the 2022 Referendum. 

While students were able to use the stadium last fall, the finishing touches were put on over the summer of 2025.
