Redesign 2020 logoThe survey, which was open from March 25 to April 19, received a total of 2,349 responses from District residents. It sought feedback on the recommendations the Board of Education received from three task force groups that studied the District’s facility concerns and attendance boundaries. In addition, the community was asked to provide feedback on whether there was interest in the further study of several possible solutions to address continued enrollment and facility inequities.

Below is a brief summary of the survey report:

-About 80 percent of respondents said they were somewhat or very familiar with the district's facility needs and the process the board is using to find solutions.

-Approximately 54 percent said they agree or strongly agree with the board reconfiguring some west side elementary schools to be only grades K-2 and some being only grades 3-5. Roughly 28 percent disagreed or strongly disagreed.

-About 70 percent indicated they agree or strongly agree that the board should reconfigure schools to provide K-8 options on the west side.

-About 69 percent said they agree or strongly agree with consolidating and re-purposing west side schools, while just over 15 percent disagreed or strongly disagreed.

-About 73 percent indicated they agree or strongly agree with the board making moderate changes to boundaries at the high school level. Nearly 21 percent disagreed or strongly disagreed with that approach.
