Wealthy Wildcat$ - Reality Fair
On Thursday, April 9th, Green Bay West High School will hold a reality fair for high school Juniors from 7:15am - 12:30pm. We need volunteers to sign up by March 20th!
A reality fair is a simulation of an adult’s financial life that allows participants to experience making financial decisions and managing money. Participants can experience what it is like to manage an account at a financial institution, making money-related decisions, obtain a loan, manage debt, and more. For youth, a reality fair can be an eye-opening, exciting, and fun way to build financial knowledge and skills.
We are looking for volunteers to join us as team members in bringing this dynamic event to Green Bay West High School! On the day of the fair, team members will play a variety of roles. For example, team members will serve as booth captains who help participants make financial decisions related to housing, transportation, insurance, and other topics,
That is where you come in! We are looking for volunteers to support various booths. Each booth represents an element of an adult’s financial life. For example, a booth on transportation may give participants various transportation options with different costs to consider. As participants attend each booth, they enter information in their booklets including their spending and saving plans. During the fair, the decisions the participants make at the booths affect their financial situation. Volunteers will be given various ways to support students making decisions (ex: card game, spin a wheel, etc).

Mentors
Make a positive impact in a student’s life just by hanging out with them during lunch hour. Big Brothers Big Sisters partners with Green Bay Area Public schools to do site-based mentor programs. This very successful program trains and prepares mentors and matches them up with an elementary aged student within various schools within the Green Bay Area Public School District. We ask for a one-year commitment from the mentors. Learn more here about Big Brothers Big Sisters.
