Volunteer Program FAQ
1. Why do we use the Volunteer Tracker software?
There are many opportunities to become involved in our school district and we are actively seeking volunteers to fill them. Our Volunteer Program aims to recruit volunteers for specific opportunities, train and recognize volunteers, and provide a meaningful experience for both the school and the volunteer. The Volunteer Program actively seeks parents, grandparents, family members, as well as businesses, churches, and other community members wishing to volunteer their time to make a difference in our schools. We can keep track of the opportunities and events through Volunteer Tracker and ensure that all volunteers are vetted properly before coming into our school buildings.
2. How can I become a volunteer?
The first step is to register on Volunteer Tracker. After you confirm your email with Volunteer Tracker, complete the online application. Depending on the volunteer activity and affiliation, you will be required to enter additional information to be submitted for a background check. You can find the application here.
3. Why do I need a background check?
Anyone wishing to volunteer as a Community Volunteer will be required to pass a background check. All volunteers work directly with students and it is our job to ensure the safety of students in our buildings.
4. Can I volunteer if I do not do a background check?
You are allowed to enter the school as a visitor, however you may not volunteer.
5. Why do I need to sign in/out electronically?
By signing in and out we can increase the safety of our students and anyone in the building. In addition, the Volunteer Tracker program provides the District important information regarding volunteer interests (reading with students, chaperoning trips, gardening, etc.) and which schools may need additional support in recruiting volunteers. We also want to be able to recognize the great work of our volunteers!
6. What if I forget to sign in/out?
If you forget to sign in/out, you can always do this at a later time on your volunteer profile. You can also ask the school secretary for assistance.
7. Do I need an email address to complete an application?
Yes! Each applicant will need a separate email address to ensure confidentiality of personal information. Email is used to verify an account before entering your SSN.
8. My account is saying that my password is incorrect, what do I do?
At times the website can take a few minutes to update to a new password. Please refresh your page and try again.
