AVID has been preparing students for college for over 30 years. Below are just some of the results of this proven, data-driven education program.

  • Since starting AVID in our district we have expanded to serve all 4 high schools, and 4 middle schools. As of 2021, there are over 650 students enrolled in the AVID elective class in Green Bay.
  • 100% of our AVID seniors graduate on time and the majority are accepted into at least 1 four-year  college. Our AVID graduates have been offered over a million dollars in scholarships since the program launched in Green Bay.
  • Our AVID graduates in Green Bay are not only more likely to be accepted to college, they are also more likely to persist and graduate. Of our class of 2016 AVID students, 80% of AVID graduates in 2016 enrolled in either a two- or four-year college/university. This compares favorably to the national average of 69%.  90% of AVID students who enrolled in college in the first fall after high school exhibited fall-to-fall persistence by enrolling in the next Fall term. The national rate in the U.S. is 77%.*

  • Since 1990, more than 110,000 AVID students have graduated from high school and planned to attend college.
  • Of the 36,220 AVID graduates in 2014, 91% planned to attend a post-secondary institution; 61% in four-year institutions and 30% in two-year institutions.
  • Almost all AVID students who participate for at least three years are accepted to college, with roughly three quarters getting into four-year universities.
  • AVID students are more likely to take AP® classes, complete their college eligibility requirements, and get into four-year colleges than students who don’t take AVID.
  • Regardless of ethnicity or economic background, AVID students complete four-year college entrance requirements at more than two times their peers (or at a rate consistently higher than their peers).
  • AVID also helps ensure students, once accepted to college, possess the higher-level skills they need for college success.
