A native of Appleton, Lynn Gerlach earned a BA in English and Speech from UW-Eau Claire. She began her teaching career at Appleton East High School but soon became a U.S. Army wife, living and working in seven states. She taught high school English, Speech and Drama and coached cheerleading, debate, forensic speaking and one-act-play competition. Lynn continued to raise her children in Green Bay and ended her teaching career at Notre Dame Academy, after her husband retired from the Army. From 1999 to 2002 she administered the Professional Development Certificate program for teachers at UW-Green Bay. When her children were grown, she left Green Bay for 16 years, returning in 2018. Lynn served one term on the Green Bay City Council. She’s worked with the Coalition of Voting Organizations (COVO), teaching citizenship at the Somali Center and registering voters, and she helped establish her neighborhood association. Lynn is the owner of Tamarack Communication, a consulting company.
